I raised my rates... đ¤
A couple months ago, I decided to raise my rates. Guess what happened? Nothing. đŚ No one canceled. No one objected. No one blinked an eye. Now, let me tell you⌠this was no small increase. I bumped my rates up by $20. đ¸ I kept feeling a little nudge to increase my rates for some time. It became louder and ânudgierâ until I finally listened. I meditated and sat with what amount of increase felt aligned and settled on $20. In the past, Iâve increased my rates by $5 or $10 increments and had nothing but positive, supportive feedback from my clients. But, I have to admit⌠I kinda thought there might be a little push back this time. That nay-saying âDebbie Downerâ in my head kept whispering, âAre ya sure? You may lose a client or twoâŚâ Gradually, I felt myself becoming comfortable with that possibility. Although Iâd be bummed to lose a client, I knew that would then create space for a client who valued me, my energy and my expertise. You see, value is subjective. When you charge a more premium price for the value you offer, you attract and maintain the type of clients who recognize your value and the presence you bring to your work. So, how do you attract and cultivate relationships with clients who are willing to invest in you and the value you bring to the table? You do this by creating an experience they canât get anywhere else. Creating an experience that only YOU can provide is what sets you apart and will attract clients that are willing to invest in it. 𧲠You create this experience by showing up authentically. You form meaningful connections with your clients by getting to know them and allowing them to get to know you. You show up with the energy of gratitude and intention of creating a positive impact on each and every client who shows up on your table. This experience makes you magnetic and will attract the type of clients you look forward to working with, who value you and create the type of practice that fulfills you. I have many clients who have followed me to my private practice from wellness centers Iâve worked for in the past. Some of them travel close to an hour to see me! These clients shared that theyâve tried other therapists and, while they gave a âgoodâ massage, they just werenât âCourtney.â For these clients in particular, the experience of seeing me is not only worth the investment of money but also of their time. I invite you to ask yourself⌠(bonus points if you journal on them! đ) ⨠Do I show up as my full, authentic self (quirks & all!) or do I send in my âprofessional MTâ representative? ⨠Am I genuinely interested in getting to know my clients & allowing them to get to know me? Do I enjoy chatting & connecting with them or am I trying to quickly get them on & off my table? ⨠Do I give my best, individualized massage to each & every client or do my sessions feel more âcookie-cutterâ? These all play a part in creating an experience for your clients that is unlike one they can get anywhere else. An experience that is uniquely you will create connections and magnetize clients who recognize your value and are happy to invest in it. đ¤ Courtney â |
